Consumer Insights & Analytics
Ordinary packaging and products are not interactive. They do not maintain data on the internet about themselves, exchange data with consumers or other systems and applications in the supply chain or generate their own data. As a result, they offer very little in terms of insights that can be used by the brand or business.
Smart Products that participate in IoT maintain digital records of themselves. They’re able to trigger digital interactions with other applications or with the consumer. There is data exchange in the form of information being written to or read from a digital record for that product or instance. This can generate a significant amount of data and be analysed to provide insights on products locations, status, place within the lifecycle, quantity and also consumer insights, preferences and behavior which can be hugely valuable.
