QA processes involves actual testing for quality including inspections, tests and scrutiny and actually communicating the details of the QA process to end consumers of a product. While a sticker or logo can communicate some sense of confidence, there’s always scope for better more efficient QA applications.
With IoT enabled Smart Products, since a digital record is maintained for each physical product / think instance, QA activities carried out at various stages can be logged against that record and offers more visibility to the end consumer. It enables QA to continue and be recorded well beyond the products sale. For example maintaining a detailed online record of a car’s service history or service and maintenance log for a air-conditioning unit, a light fitting or wiring in an apartment. The ability to access & update QA logs or service logs on a ‘thing’ increases transparency.
